Vito Makes A Cigar
I was rummaging through the humidor the other day looking for something to smoke and came across a cigar with a crime boss on the label. I figured, the hell with the stereotype, let’s give this a try.
Upon first glance this is a nice looking cigar with a natural wrapper that’s slightly veiny. There is both a regular band and a foot band as well that bears the signature of the producer, movie actor Joseph Gannascoli, who played Vito on the Sopranos. I cut the cigar easily without any problem and lit.
The cigar drew well and burned evenly. It appeared to be well constructed and there were no surprises or problems during the entire smoke.
The flavor of the cigar was both peppery and sweet with almost a cherry tang to the stick. This was after a few puffs as it took a good third of the cigar for the flavor profiel to fully emerge. Overall, I would rate this as a medium bodied or ‘lunch’ cigar.
This cigar was a gift so I’m not sure exactly about the cost, but internet research leads me to believe its around $7. At that price I think that I would find a little more depth to the flavor and a little more refined flavor. But aside from value there was nothing wrong with the cigar.
I enjoyed this stick and if I found it on a special deal I would add a few to my humidor.
