Nub Rarity – The San Andreas Maduro

I wasn’t looking for anything special when I picked out this cigar.  It just seemed to call out.  But, it turns out that this is a non-production stick made jsut for inclusion in the Nub Studio Tobac Sampler.  These are available only at Studio events.

A monster ring gauge characterizes this smoke.  It has a nice rich brown maduro wrapper and is choclatey to the taste.  I punched and lit the cigar easily, but had trouble with the draw.

The first flavors were of chocolate and cream, not really spicy but rather sweet.  As the cigar progressed there was a fuller or heavier sense.  Perhaps that was because I was working hard to draw on the stick.  Towards the end there was just a slight hint of pepper, but no bitterness.

This cigar is rolled really tightly.  I had trouble with the draw from the outset.  And, had to relight the cigar multiple times during my hour of smoking.

Value is excellent since these cigars are given to you when you  buy other very good cigars.  If the intention of Studio Tobac is to try out different things, that’s great.  And I’m sure we can forgive them not hitting the bulls eye every time.
