Oliva Master Blend 3

For the past number of years, Oliva has specially blended a line of cigars called the Master Blends.  This cigar is form the third in that series, hence its name.  It’s also called Liga Maestra.  The tobacco blend for this years cigar is  all Nicaraguan with the filler being a ligero leaf (this is a very rich an intenste tobacco leaf), the binder being a Habano, and the wrapper being sun-grown.

This beautifully constructed flat pressed torpedo(6×52) has a very smooth, pleasantly peppery draw. After 1 inch it mellowed out, switching to a slightly sweet smoke with coffee and caramel flavors.

This cigar had great ash, even burn, and smoked through for 1 hour and 15 minutes with no relighting necessary. The  aged sun grown wrapper with a Nicaraguan filler speak to the delightful flavors that make this a superior medium bodied or ‘lunch’ cigar.

This is one of my favorite smokes; it sells in the $10 range. At that price, you demand a good smoke and this cigar delivers.  And keeps on delivering for a nice enjoyable and liesurely afternoon smoke.
