Pride Ritual

Pride Ritual ToroI was looking for a nice cigar for  my drive from Boston to New York and found this stick in my travel humidor.  The band was a simple affair, but appealing.  And the name Ritual struck a chord.  Taking it out its cellophane, I noticed that it had a nice woodsy smell, but a pitted construction.  It seemed like one of those old sweaters that has the little fur balls on them.  Nevertheless, they didn’t seem to interfere in any way with the flavor of the cigar.

When first lit, this stick had a smooth woody taste.  It was not harsh in any way and I liked its natural taste.  I really didn’t have many expectations since I didn’t knwo much about it.  As the cigar smoked it didn’t change flavor much. The only real change I noticed was a slightly sweet aftertaste.

The construction of the cigar was good.  It lit easily and drew well.  It held a nice ash, though I didn’t let it go as long as I might have since I was driving.

Overall, this was a nice smoke.  Sometimes you are looking for a cigar when you can’t really pay attention.  This is perfect.  The flavors are nice, it burns well, but doesn’t require a lot of thought.
