A Round-Up of What is on the Cigar Blogs
Starting this week, I thought I’d share with you some of what is going on on the other cigar blog’s. This will giv eyou an opportunity to keep up with your favoriteson several blog’s without leaving our home site.
On Stogie Review.com, they reviewed a Nub Cameroon. I just recently posted about the Nub Habano, so it might be interesting to see the differences. He gets a great ash in his photo. If you are looking to impress with an ash this is certainly the right stick. I can smoke them completely on a single ash.
If you like video reviews or are a fan of Tatuaje and Pete Johnson then Brian Glynn’s review of the ‘Wolfman’ on Cigar Obsession.com will be of interest. I met Pete a number of years ago and am trying to hook up with him to learn more about what he’s doing.
Notes
I spent a wonderful day this past Friday in Miami. First I visited Cuban Crafters where I was given a great tour and some wonderful sticks by Gabe. Cuban Crafters is located in a 3 story building in Little Havana. The ground floor has everything you need in life. There is a large walk in humidor with hundreds of differents brands and shapes, including several rare and hard to find numbers. There are rollers making cigars (watch for video soon), and there is a barbershop. Before your haircut you can get a Cuban coffee at the coffee bar and after you can play dominoes (it looked cut throat) or have a sandwich and a drink. I can’t imagine a visit to Miami would be complete for any cigar smoker without a trip to this mecca.
My next visit was to the Cigar1 Lounge. This lounge in southern Miami is owned by Miami Cigar and Company. It is a great shop with a nice smoking lounge in the back. Barry Stein of Miami Cigars was there to talk to me about their cigars (watch for reviews in the near future). One of the cigars they make is the Humo Jaguar, which I gave a great review to before meeting Barry and knowing anything about it. It’s a cigar that I really love. Sheila is in the lounge and was serving all of her customers well. You’ll certainly enjoy the selection and the hospitality.
Finally, after leaving the Cigar1 Lounge at around 7:15 in the evening I went to Tamiami Park for dinner. Dinner in a park, you ask? There was a food truck round-up showcasing over 14 trucks. I had never gone to one and wanted to try it. It was lots of fun. And the grilled Tilapia I got from a Peruvian food truck was great.
