B-Cuz by Graycliff
Graycliff is a cigar that has been available for some time. While it’s not an old time brand, it isn’t new either. They have had distribution from a number of channels and had a reputation as an upscale brand from the Bahamas. Recently, Graycliff decided to take back their distribution for the United States. And having done that, they released two new cigars at the recent trade show. B-Cuz, priced more aggressively, is intended to introduce people to the Graycliff line. They say that it is “A smooth, Graycliff flavor, medium strength with a touch of authentic Bahamian spice.”
When you first look at the cigar your impression is good. It looks like a nice straight forward smoke. It feels a little soft tot he touch and appears quite veiny. My stick punched easily and lit without a problem. The color is a nice light brown.
This is a well constructed cigar. It burns evenly, something I was concerned about since it felt soft at first. Obviously, there were no problems. The light gray ash was great. At around 2½” I gave up and let the ash drop gently from the end of the cigar. It might have gone much longer.
This is a mild cigar by my tastes and I think of it as a ‘breakfast’ smoke. It was very cool and light flavored with a little tea and cedar notes at the begining. At the second third some leather was added to the cedar. Finally, during the last third of the cigar the stick let you know it was alive. There were some definite nutmeg flavors towards the end.
At around $7.00 this is a good value for a boutique premium smoke. If you like more mild cigars this could be right up your alley. And, if you’d like to try a Graycliff without breaking the bank this will be your choice.
