CAO-MX2

CAO-MX2Most always there is some sort of story behind each cigar.  This one is no exception.  The name MX2 stands for the wrapper, which is actually two maduro wrappers.  So the name means maduro times 2.  Not only does that wrapper give the cigar its beautiful appearance but also some its great flavor.

I pulled this 6×54 black beauty from my humidor where it had been residing well  humidified for about 2 years.  The wrapper was dark, oily, and well constructed.  This cigar lit easily and smoked to the end with a nice smoke and even though conditions were windy, it required no relight.

It lasted about 2 hours.  Flavor at the beginning there was spice and coffee with a nice aftertaste.   The cigar burned well and created a nice ash.  Flavors continued with the coffee and spice through the middle of the cigar.

The cap came off about 2/3 in (I use a punch), but this didn’t affect the taste or smoking experience.  At the end the spice had diminished, but the coffee notes remained, and the cigar was very pleasantly mellow.

At around $5, I would rate this cigar as an excellent value.  And overall, it was a great smoke.
