Aging Room’s La Boheme is a Star
I have reviewed and enjoyed several cigars from Boutique Blends, the organization behind the Aging Room and Swag. Last year the Aging Room launched another premium cigar called La Boheme, named after a famous opera. At the 2014 IPCPR, Aging Room gave me the “Pittore”, a 5 1/8 X 52 vitola of La Boheme, to review.
La Boheme uses an Ecuadorian Habano wrapper around Dominican binder and filler. The cigar is a little above average in appearance with an even firmness to it. The cigar started quite mild but built in strength as each inch was burned and by the end it was full bodied. The initial flavor was wood and cedar that eventually shifted into coffee and cream with a mild under taste. The smoke volume was well above average, creamy in appearance and the ash was well formed with speckles of black. The burn was outstandingly even throughout the entire smoke and the draw was better than average.
I spent an hour and a half enjoying La Boheme and smoked it down to my fingertips. The construction and flavor earn high ratings. The cost is a little high at $10-11.50 in box volume but as an occasional luxury, it is worth it. I give La Boheme a 4.5 out of 5.
