A Fuente Gran Reserva
A. Fuente is celebrating their 100th anniversary year. They have been making cigars for a very long time. And it shows. The company is run by Carlos Fuente, Sr. and his children, Carlos Fuente, Jr. (known as Carlito) and Cynthia Fuente-Saurez. They are wonderful people quite generous and charitable. They have provided for the education of thousands in the Domincan Republic by building a school and other great works. They are also personable as well. It was a delight to sit at a luncheon table a few years ago hosted by Cynthia. Great stories and great fun.
This 5×52 cigar was well constructed. It lit easily and had an oily wrapper.
The first inch or so was slightly peppery with hints of leather and earth and then the cigar turned slightly sweet with hints of vanilla and coffee. It produced great ash and required no relight during the 1 and 1/4 hours I enjoyed it.
I would think this cigar is a breakfast cigar due to the mild flavors. Its taste is nice and smooth and those who enjoy milder cigars might find it interesting because although mild, ti is flavorful.
At $6.75 this stick is average in price. I enjoyed this cigar with bourbon while solving world problems with a friend. When you are looking for something to smoke with a good fried, give this a try.
