Torano Exodus 1959 Silver

I am a Torano fan.  I have been smoking these cigars for years.  One of my regular smokes is the 1959 gold torpedo.  So, I was, of course, eager to smoke this one for review.  One of the primary reasons why I find myself recommending Torano cigars to people is that they make a wide selection of very well priced cigars.  Charlie Torano, whose motto is ‘Make Time to Burn” wants to insure that his company’s cigars are affordable for everyday smokers.  Not only are they affordable, they are quite nice as well.

When I first examine my Exodus 59 Silver Torpedo, I am struck by a nice oily wrapper and beautiful appearance of the cigar.  It smells like a cigar and clips and lights easily.  Right after lighting the cigar I am called away.  Even 10 minutes later when I return, the cigar has held its light.  The cigar produces lots of very aromatic smoke, chocolate and hay.

The cigar is for the most part well made.  It has a nice touch and holds a long ash.  As it burned towards the two thirds mark it seemed to burn quite unevenly.  But, that could be because of my initial inattention.

The flavor of this stick is medium bodied and rich.  It has notes of spicy chocolate.  I felt there was a creaminess at the begining that slowly faded to more spice as the cigar burned.  But, despite there being that layer of spice, I thought the flavors were well balanced and not overpowering.  I would rate this ‘lunch’ cigar.

For a value perspective, Torano is always there.  They are committed to bringing the cigar smoker a great cigar for a reasonable price.  At less than $7 per stick this is well worth the money.  I can’t imagine a humidor without Torano cigars.
