A Smoking Missile
A number of years ago Rocky Patel brought out the ‘Edge’ line. At that time it included a torpedo shape that was referred to as a missile. It was available in a couple of different wrappers. This review was inspired by the recent announcement that the edge would be available in a candela version shortly.
I enjoyed the missile on a long drive and it certainly helped pass the time. When you first look at the maduro version it presents as a nice oily dark and rich stick. I expected a sweetness from that wrapper and wasn’t disappointment. The cigar clipped easily and lit without a problem.
Taste was strong and I would think of this as a medium to full bodied or ‘dinner’ cigar. For a small cigar, it is only 5 x 48, it packs a lot of punch. It starts off strong and continues through out. But, the spice is slightly mellowed by a chocolatey sweetness.
Construction is fine as the cigar burns evenly and draws well. The stick held a nice edge and kept a long ash. This cigar has lots of smoke filling my car as I drove.
A lot of the cigars that I get are gifted by different people or manufacturers. I stopped in a couple of bricks and mortar stores as I was driving north last week and bought a few sticks at each. The experience was great. Nice, friendly people filled with great info and tips and some surprising values in cigars. With the overwhelming barrage of internet retailers many overlook their local dealer. Give them a try.
This cigar retails at a nice price point of around $5 per. That hits the button when looking for good value. If you are looking for a full bodied, big cigar this will fit that bill.
