Acid Blondie – A Flavored Cigar
I have for years despised the flavored tip cigars. So, it was with great reluctance that I tried the Acid Blondie by Drew Estate. Jonathan Drew is a great guy and has supported our writing with cigars and information. So, I bit the bullet and gave the Blondie a shot.
The first thing you notice about the Blondie is the pigtail cap. This is a nice touch. Once clipped, you taste a honey dipped end. That blunts the taste of cigar. If you like sweet smokes and don’t want natural tobacco tastes, this will be a welcome addition to the stick.
The cigar is well constructed. It is small in stature but burns evenly and smoothly. It held a nice ash and did not get hot during the 35 minutes that it was lit.
The earthy taste of the mild cigar was, for me, overwhelmed by the sweetness. But, there was definitely a cigar under that honey. And, if you can get past the sweet dip, the flavors of cigar are pleasant.
These cigars are available in tins at around $3.00, plus per. I do not care for sweetened cigars, but this is a nice smoke, if it’s your cup of tea. Regardless, there is a market for this type of cigar and Drew Estate serves it well.
