Aventuro Cumbre – An Unknown King

Aventuro CumbreSometimes I wish you could more easily find certain cigars.  You probably think that I’m referring to those scarce gems that are from small edgy producers.  Well, frankly, I think that you can get thsoe cigars. The best way to do that is to frequent a good bricks and mortar shop.  Become friendly with the owner and staff.  Let them know what you like and show your loyalty.  Perhaps you’ll pay a couple of bucks more over the long haul, but, you will get a lot more for your money.  What will you get?  Insider info on cigars.  Access to hard to find sticks.  And invitations to cigar events.  Plus, the camaraderie of fellow smokers.  No, I’m actually talking about little known, good, aggressively priced, cigars from small and little distributed producers.

Today’s cigar is from Cheyenne International.  They mostly produce machine made small convenience boxed cigars.  But, under the brand Aventuro, they produce hand made premium cigars.  I have tasted others from this line and have found them all to be very good.  When you first look at this cigar, it looks like a cigar.  Nothing special, just a good looking light brown stick.    It punched and lit without a problem and produced a nice amount of smoke.

The draw on this stick was open and easy.  The ash, almost a pure white, grew to a nice long length.  IT burned evenly and held a nice tight edge.  All of this adds up to a well made cigar.

Flavor on this ‘breakfast’ strength cigar were mild throughout.  A nice mellow creamy flavor presented at the first puff.  As I continued to smoke it tasted like a nice morning cappuccino with coffee and cream notes.  In the final third, I tasted the cinnamon that was sprinkled on top of my morning break.  This mild cigar had all of the flavors you want from something mellow and nice.

Even though it’s hard to find, this is a very good value.  When you find them, you’ll be delighted to get a box of 25 cigars for less than $100.  If you like a mild cigar or if you have to provide cigars to newer or occasional smokers this is just the stick for you.
