Battleground – 150: A Winner

Cigars come in all sizes and shapes.  And, after a while you’ll think that you’ve seen them all.  You haven’t.  There is always something else to come down the pike.  So, I wasn’t surprised when I heard about a cigar line that is named after and about the civil war.  I just thought it would be one more gimmicky undistinguished cigar.  I was wrong.  The folks at...

When you meet a lot of cigar makers all at one time, memories are bound to be blurred.  And the sticks, unless they stand out in some way sort of blend together.  Spending  a weekend with more cigars than you can imagine, I was overwhelmed.  And some of the cigars were passed by or forgotten.  I guess, as an avid cigar smoker, I could easily smoke a different cigar every day and still not...

Carrillo, godfather of the wide cigar is at it again.  And these cigars are called inch, named after their size.  Over the past few years there has been a trend towards larger ring gauge cigars, mostly...

It’s not often that we write about cigars that we don’t have much info about.  But this is a little standout.  It’s also not common for me to write about flavored cigars.  Yet, this small cigar had people raving and I felt it would be nice to depart from our normal reviews and add something that people might be interested in. This cigar, the M.J. Frias Cafe Espresso,...
