C&C LRMD – Nice!

This is an interesting new brand that we are reviewing today.  C&C is the brainchild of Joe Chisano the founder of Cusano Cigars.  He has had plenty of experience in the industry and after selling his previous business decide to get back to making cigars again.  The C&C brand is currently grabbing lots of attention.  Just the other day I was smoking with a colleague from Los Angeles who had read about C&C but not yet tasted.  When I opened my humidor to offer a choice, he went right for the C&C Corojo.  I’ll be reviewing that, along with his comments, soon.

To first look at the LRMD is to see a nice mild chocolate colored stick.  My cigar was very veiny and oily.  It seemed to have a nice even pack.  I punched and lit it without any problems.

The draw of the cigar was open.  In general it seemed well constructed as it held a nice even tight edge.  But, the ash never grew beyond half an inch.  This is just the opposite of the corojo, which my colleague held an ash of over 3 inches.  Regardless, the construction was good.

Flavor was nice, but a bit boring.  First notes were of leather and grass which gave way to a general earthiness.  As the cigar moved toward the second third, it picked up some spice which grew mildly until the end of the smoke.  I would think of this as a heavy, medium bodied or ‘lunch’ cigar.

When it comes to value this cigar shines.  There is a lot of value packed into this nice stick.  For less than five bucks you are getting more than an average smoke.  Forty-five minutes of pleasure awaits you with this stick.  I’m sure that anyone who likes a medium bodied short stick will find room in their humidor for this value packed cigar.
