Crossfire Cigars’s Library Series (Connecticut) Missed a Dewey Decimal
This is my sixth cigar review of Crossfire’s offerings since 2013. At the 2015 IPCPR Crossfire introduced their Library Series, a new blend aimed at the premium market segment. A “box” of the Library Series cigars comes in the form of a high quality book that opens up to 10 cigars. The title of the book is the name of the cigar series, all authored by Crossfire. Nicely done. Crossfire provided a Diary of Connecticut at the 2015 IPCPR to review.
The Diary is a 6 ¼ X 56 box pressed cigar with a light greenish-brown color; it was firm and easy to hold. The Diary uses an Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper around Dominican binder and filler. The initial flavors were earth and wood, followed by cream, cedar and spice, with spice the primary flavor for the last 2/3 of the cigar. The smoke volume was excellent, and the shape and color of the ash was very good. The draw was easy and no relights were needed, suggesting excellent construction.
I spent an hour and 15 minutes enjoying this mild to medium cigar. The SRP is $11.99, a bit on the high end for this cigar but the box is unusual and attractive. I rate it a 3.5 out of 5.
