Dunhill Aged Dominican Tabaras

One of the reps at TPE gave me a nice cigar that I would not ordinarily smoke.  Not because it’s bad, rather because for me it’s too mild.  The Dunhill Aged Dominican Tabaras is actually a very nice cigar.  It is a nice light brown color, with not overly large veins.  It looks smooth and has a toothy feel.  Since it encased in a tube and wrapped in cedar, it has a pleasant cedar aroma before lighting.

My cigar was easy to light and had a nice smooth draw.  The first few puffs had just a hint of pepper, but that was due to the heat of lighting.  Within a couple of minutes the pepper yielded to a creamy gentle hay like flavor.  As I mentioned, I prefer stronger cigars.  This stick tasted like a cigar, but just barely.

As I continued the smoke the flavors changed very little.  They were pleasant, without any significant aftertaste.  The cigar burned perfectly, holding a tight edge.  If you are new to cigars, or you like nice mellow cigars, this is a good choice.

The cigar lasted about 40 minutes.  Shortly before I finished, it was still displaying the mellow creamy flavors that it had from the beginning.

This cigar sells for between $7.00 and $9.50.  While it is a good cigar, there are others available that have a mild taste for around $5. to $6.  That makes this value a little lower that you might want.  But, if you can find these sticks at a good price, they are very nice indeed.

Overall, this is an easy light bodied, well made, nice looking cigar.  If you have to give someone who doesn’t smoke all the time a gift, this would be a winner.
