Esteban Carreras 211
When I recently opened the humidor for something to smoke I came across this stick about which I knew nothing. I’m sure that I got it at an event somewhere, but I have no other details. If you have info on this cigar please leave a comment. Nevertheless, I did some research and found out that the 211 is a police code for a robbery. And Carreras has made other cigars using this police code system for naming. If this cigar is a robbery, the I got nothing for my trouble.
At first look, the cigar is appealing. I was smoking a corona. It had a nice wrapper and looked well made. The band is a t the foot. I clipped the cigar and it lit without problem.
Unfortunately, I had quite a bit of trouble keeping this cigar lit. I didn’t think the draw was tight, but it kept going out despite my continuous puffing. I was disappointed.
The flavor of the ciagr was fine. While there was a bit of spice, I would think of this stick as mild or a ‘breakfast’ cigar. There were hints of cocoa throughout and they were quite nice. There was not much change int he flavor as the stick smoked. My cigar, burned a bit hotter than I’d like, but I think that was because I had to relight frequently.
This cigar sell for around $5. Usually, that’s a good price point. I’d like to try another of these before making a recommendation. If it draws well and stays lit, then I’d think there was a lot of value to this smoke.
