A Torch You Can Fly With
A Torch Lighter You can take on an airplane
Many of you know that I travel quite frequently. I am not alone on the planes. And, Occasionally there are other cigar smokers. Alas, we can’t indulge our passion aboard, or for that matter at most airports. But, just recently I flew through JFK in New York and Delta has a new outdoor smoking lounge, complete with nice comfortable chairs and bar service on a roof deck of their airline club. Bravo! And there is more good news. How about being able to take a torch lighter with you when you travel.
Now you can! The Soto Pocket Torch is intended for campers and other outdoorsmen, but, we’ll take it anyway. It is a two piece gizmo that when you insert an inexpensive and readily available lighter, becomes a fully functional torch. So, when you fly you have two innocuous looking pieces, the top and the fuel holder. After you have landed, a quick stop at any convenience store and $1.29 later you are in business. When it’s time to fly again, just dispose of the disposable lighter and you are good to go. I paid about $20. for my Soto pocket Torch. You can get one at a local camping shop or just follow the link above.
