Gurkha’s Cellar Reserve Especial “Hedonism” is Full of Pleasure.

Hedonism, in simple terms, is the pursuit of pleasure before all else and Gurkha named one of its limited edition, aged cigars just that – Hedonism. The Cellar Reserve Edition Especial uses Dominican tobaccos aged 18 years for the filler, a Dominican Olor for the binder, covered by a Corojo wrapper. Gurkha reports that there was only enough tobacco to make 1,000 boxes so supplies are limited.
The Hedonism is a 6 X 58 perfecto sporting a large orange band with gold and black writing. The cigar had a pigtail cap, open torpedo foot and was slightly firm. The smoke volume and draw of the Hedonism was outstanding but the burn was uneven causing a relight or two. The ash was good and the early flavors were butter and cream. This was followed by wood and cedar with nutty undertones. There was no bitterness and occasionally sweetness emerged. The flavor mix was pleasant.
I spent an hour and 10 minutes smoking the medium to full bodied Hedonism and I found it priced at $14. Well, the pursuit of pleasure does have price to pay and $14 is almost reasonable for this cigar. I rate it a 3.5 out of 5.
