Kristoff GC Torpedo

Kristoff GC TorpedoAs a cigar smoker for over 40 years, it’s rare when I am presented with something I haven’t seen before.  But that was definitely the case with this cigar made by Glen Case.  The foot of the cigar is not trimmed of the excess wrapper.  This means that when you light it you will get a different taste.  It’s an interesting concept.

While I was skeptical at first, I liked this addition.   The cigar lit easily and had a very bold distinctive flavor of espresso.  I expected this taste to overpower the cigar but it quickly faded into the background.

About twenty minutes into the smoke, I was about one third down and enjoying a mellow subtle taste of coffee.  As I got to the halfway point I started to pick up on more of those stronger notes of espresso and it gave the cigar a nice pleasant flavor.  But that was short lived.

I was concerned about the construction of the cigar because the flavors seemed to come and go, and I wondered whether that was as a result of poorly bunched filler.  But, overall the cigar smoke evenly and held a nice ash.  I think this is a good cigar.  I enjoyed it and would definitely smoke another cigar from this line.
