La Gloria Serie N
Michael Giannin and Team La Gloria have been hard at work of the past few years insuring that this boutiques brands does not go stale. They are always working on new projects, different blends and interesting shapes.
The Serie N, is the brain child of Yuri Guillen, the general manager of La Gloria. They have put together a powerhouse smoke with an interesting marketing gimmick.
When you first look at the cigar, it stands out. You see a light brown N on an almost black background of the wrapper. The cigar was a little soft but lit and drew well giving off nice smoke.
The cigar smoked well with one exception. It did not burn through the N. At that point the cigar burned unevenly until it got past the N. To be honest, I have smoked N’s before and have never had this problem. It just struck me as funny that the N didn’t want to burn.
The flavor of this cigar is strong. It starts out with very earthy and peppery tastes. As the cigar matures, I got just a touch of sweetness without losing the heat. In the final third there was a little leather with the peppery spice. All in all, while there were undertones of other flavors the cigar is predominantly strong earth and pepper flavors.
At $6.35, the price is reasonable and it brings value to those who are looking for a strong smoke.
