La Sirena Sings the Right Notes

La Sirena PrinceWhat can you say about a cigar whose band is overwhelming?  In this case – plenty.  I was looking for  a short smoke tonight and selected the La Sirena Prince.  This is a cigar made by Miami Cigar and Company.  They make great cigars in Nicaragua.  Recently, I was a guest of Barry Stein at their cigar bar Lounge1 in Miami and we enjoyed some great cigar talk and a nice stick.  This is a nice place to visit and if you are in Miami you should definately check it out.

La Sirena Prince Band 2Upon first inspection, you notice the band.  In fact, when you remove this band, I did that immediately, you find another band.  This I left on while smoking as is generally my custom.  The cigar has a beautiful dark wrapper and oily shine.  It cut easily and lit without problem.  The draw was remarkably easy as the cigar seemed to be packed tight.

After the first few puffs, I was getting a bold chocolate flavor with just a hint of sharpness.  As the cigar progressed the flavor got stronger reminding me of Mexican cinnamon coffee.  It also had an earth taste that I found very pleasant.  The finish of the cagr about 40 minutes after lighting was peppery but sweet without a lingering aftertaste.  These flavors are the result of a blend of tobaccos that include a coriollo and corojo filler, a Habano and corojo binder, and a Connecticut broadleaf maduro wrapper.

At $9.00 this is not an inexpensive cigar, but the complexity of flavor makes it worthwhile.  All in all this one is definitely worth a smoke.
