Las Ramblas, Maduro

This is the third and last toro size offering in Ventura’s Las Ramblas line.  This 6 1/2 X 50 cigar was quite firm (as in tightly wrapped) and slightly veiny in its construction, suggesting that the draw could be tough, but that was not the case.

 However, the firmness called for a closer look at the construction. As can be seen in the photo, some “twigs” appear in the center and upper right corner of the cigar.
I think the overly firm construction and selected filler contributed to the inability of the ash to remain coherent and attractive.

The appearance and construction criticisms I noted did not result in a cigar with an unappealing taste.  While this is the strongest of the three Las Ramblas offerings, I consider it to be on the lower end of medium bodied and would enjoy it with a dark beer or  mixed cocktail. This $5 cigar is still light enough to have before a meal.
