Monte Pascoal Interest in Brazil
We have been smoking Brazilian tobacco for some time. And it has been grown almost since Brazil was discovered. The primary growing regions are in the northern part of the country. Mata Fina, Mata Norte, and Mata Sul are all growing regions with tobacco of different properties. The Mata Fina is the best and is used for wrappers for many different cigars. It is silky and ages to a nice maduro finish very easily. Monte Pascoal, our cigar today, is made in Brazil using Mata Fina and Mata Norte.
When I first examined the cigar is looked rough. It had a nice medium brown color. That rough look wasn’t bad, more a renegade type of feeling. The cigar punched and lit without a problem and produced lots of nice smoke.
The cigar presents as well made. The draw was open and it burned evenly holding a nice tight edge. The ash, light gray, was ok. It could have held longer.
Flavor on this stick were fine. It started off with a creamy flavor and added hints of coffee as it smoked towards the middle. The cigar was mild to medium with hints of spice towards the end. There was no after taste. It burned cool and I would call it a ‘breakfast’ smoke.
These sticks can be found for around $5.00 or less in box quantity making it a nice value for a flavorful well build stick.
