MUWAT Bait Fish – A perfect smoke
Jonathan Drew has changed the way the world looks at cigars. From the early days when the traditional tobacco makers looked at him and said ‘Gringo Loco’ to today, when everyone acknowledges that Drew Estate has revolutionized the cigar industry, Drew marches to the beat of his own drummer. And makes a great cigar. This blend, made in conjunction with the guys at Joyo de Nicaragua in the JDN factory is a hit. The intention is to put out a medium bodied smoke that is accessible. They have succeeded.
There is nothing outstanding about the initial appearance of this smoke. It looks like, well, a cigar. Nothing takes away from that. Just a plain cigar. The cigar speaks for itself. It clips easily and lights without a problem. Smoke is produced voluminously.
The construction if this cigar is flawless. It burned evenly, keeping the most perfect edge. And the perfect white grey ash — ahhhhhhhhh. Perhaps it could have held the entire length of the cigar, but I couldn’t take the pressure and let it gentry drop after about two inches.
I like a more full bodied cigar. But, I’m fussy. I want flavor more than strength. And, that’s what this delivers. Nice woodsy, earthy, flavors that roll in your mouth. I was not overwhelmed at all but I certainly knew I was smoking a good cigar. As the cigar progressed, I had a note of chocolate, perhaps as a result of the San Andreas wrapper.
At around $6.00 this is a reasonably priced cigar. But considering how good it is, I would pay a lot more . And, I think the size is perfect. Forty minutes of smoking pleasure gives you the option of enjoying this puppy on your lunch break, or every other time.
