New Cigars

The last week brought some news in the industry.  Tow companies referred to new cigar releases in their news.  Miami Cigar and Company, exclusive U.S. distributors of La Aurora, announced that they will make a limited availability La Aurora 107 Salomon.  The La Aurora 107 line, introduce to commemorate the 107th anniversary of the factory, has been well received.  This new shape should be another winner and I’m looking forward to trying it as soon as it becomes available, sometime in the next few months.

Gurkha Cigar Group, recently announce their name change.  We reported on that earlier this week.  Buried in that press release was a brief mention that there would be a 125th anniversary cigar later this year.  No further info on that but we’ll keep you posted.

CigarMayven Miami

For the past couple of months whenever I have business in Miami, I find a little extra time to visit the cigar manufacturers.  Each of these visits has been a treat.  They are usually about an hour and the opportunity to learn about the cigars and their producers as well as get the inside news on what is to come.  There is also some good cigar smoking involved.  Why do I tell you this?  Well, frankly, to make you jealous.  But then that wouldn’t be fair.  So, as a heads up, we are looking for a date this fall when we will have an event called CigarMayven Miami where you will have the opportunity to join others on a guided tour and visit to several of the Miami based cigar producers.  Details and dates for the vent are still a ways off, but start thinking about your plans to attend this fun event.
