St. Luis Rey Titan a Full Bodied Giant
This is a large cigar. The tendency over the last few years of smokers is to seek out and enjoy larger shapes. And, this will certainly fit that bill. Cigar ring size or gauge is measured in 64ths of an inch, so 60 is almost a full inch around. That’s a lot of cigar. In addition to being a bigger cigar with more tobacco, larger rings smoke cooler. The thicker the cigar the cooler the smoke.
When I first opened this cigar, it looked nice. Mine was a natural wrapper, so it had a light almost coffee color to the wrapper. It lit easily and drew well.
The flavors of the cigar are full of spice and pepper. And it didn’t really change throughout the smoke. About halfway down the cigar began to burn unevenly. It seemed to correct itself after about 10 minutes or so but then the uneven burn continued. It was never really enough to make you need to relight or to abandon the cigar, but it was aggravating.
This stick retails for $4.50, plus tax making it a lot of cigar for the money. There are not many hand made cigars this large for less money so if you want a really large cigar this might be the best value.
Over time I have smoked a fair number of these cigars and have found some to be better than this particular smoke. Overall, I think that if you want a big inexpensive but ok cigar, you can trust St. Luis Rey.
