Table 36 Needs an Ashtray
Table 36 launched their first cigar, called Fellowship, in 2012 (see our review entitled “Now Serving Table 36”). It was successful enough for Table 36 to add another blend to the line, this time called Integrity. If the next blend is called Strength, then the fellows at Table 36 are modeling themselves after the FIST clan, and the last brand would be called Teamwork. Table 36 uses the Estelli Nicaragua factory of Plasencia Cigars to make the Integrity line. Plasencia claims to make over 30 million cigars annually and supplies leaf to many of the major cigar companies.
The Integrity comes in 4 sizes – corona gorda 5.5 X 46, robusto 5 X 50, toro 6 X 60 and a unique V58 6.5 X 58. The Integrity is aimed at smokers who enjoy medium to full bodied cigars. I visited Table 36 at the 2013 IPCPR and was given one for testing – the 6 X 60 toro. The Integrity is all Nicargaun with a double binder of Esteli and Jalapa, securing legero from both Condega and Jalapa and wrapped with a Jalapa wrapper.
The band for this stick was a refreshingly simple design of the company name with the number 36 dominating. The toro had a very firm spot about 2 inches from the cap and the square foot resulting from the soft box press. The pre-smoke flavor was leather and the stick light easily enough. The smoke volume was very good but the draw was a little tough. The initial flavor was pepper and spice with an undertaste of leather, but pepper soon dominated. The cigar lasted 30 minutes but burned unevenly and increased in harshness towards the end. At an MSRP of about $7.60 I consider the Integrity less of a value than the Fellowship and rate it a 3.0 out of 5.
